On January 20, the Clean energy for EU islands secretariat organised a webinar about the Regulary Inventory. The Clean energy for EU islands Regulatory Inventory will be a publicly accessible online database that includes the national legislation, regulation, and policy framework for the support of clean energy technologies, projects, and initiatives. It will be accessible through the EU island secretariat’s website.
The inventory covers 15 Member States with inhabited islands (Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Greece, France, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Sweden). In order to create this inventory, the secretariat collected data on currently applicable national legislation, regulation and policies which provide support for development of renewable energy, energy efficiency and community energy projects and initiatives, the relevant procedures, policies and authorisation bodies.
The webinar contained a short explanation the process followed, and methodology used to bring together the Regulatory Inventory. The scope of the Regulatory Inventory being the snapshot of the legislative and regulatory framework for support of clean energy technologies and projects, was presented. Later, the participants had a chance to preview the Regulatory Inventory on the new Clean energy for EU islands website.
