On 8-9 March 2019, the Clean Energy for EU Islands Secretariat will organise a two-day workshop and roundtable discussions on the islands of Cres and Lošinj. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about climate change, the clean energy transition, financing solutions and innovative technologies.

The workshop is aimed at all island stakeholders representing the quadruple helix on Cres-Lošinj, including local authorities, citizens, academia and business. All these actors are considered crucial actors for advancing the islands' transition. At the same time, it will be an opportunity for other Croatian islands to join the capacity-building sessions and learn from the experience of the Cres-Lošinj archipelago.

VIEW THE AGENDA

The Cres-Lošinj archipelago as pilot and the islands of Korčula, Hvar and Brač as pioneering islands have been selected to receive support from the EU Islands Secretariat, and will develop their Clean Energy Transitions in the coming months. In order to kick-start this process, relevant island stakeholders will join a practical transition workshop. There, experts will support the island community in developing an initial vision for the clean energy transition of the Croatian islands.

Through this workshop, the Secretariat aims to support the local island communities in building their capacity for advancing the transition from the bottom up.
